The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to avoid it.
The Combo j7+ is also the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum in areas you don’t wish to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it by speaking to it.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one spot instead of scattering it across the floor. While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent option for those who need both a vac and a mop in their home. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a long time to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to know whether the update actually working until you've seen it in the action.

When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best choice is probably a hybrid. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your home at the same time. They also come with a variety of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They are expensive at full retail but often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. It's the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. Although it might not include some of the luxurious features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories) however, it's a great choice for those who are willing to compromise to save a few dollars.

If you select the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place emptying the bin can be accomplished with relative ease. It also features an impressive LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't required for everyone, but it can help easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and functionality are among the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.
It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling factor is its ability to automate many tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive as well. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that does a really good job of collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors, for instance, and it doesn't have a dock that allows the user to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
